Audio 360˚

Rebecca Ormond & Scott Miller

Many storytellers working in AR/VR are more comfortable with visuals and therefore focus on imagery, relegating audio to a secondary role. In this interactive teaching project, the participant is taken on a reverse journey, where we first build an immersive head-tracking ambisonic audioscape then incrementally introduce visual counterparts in a 3D 360 VR environment. The goal of building the audioscape and landscape in this order is to force one to interpret audio equally as a story tool.
